BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship
The BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship is designed for ambitious individuals who want to start, grow, or manage innovative businesses in today’s dynamic global economy. This course combines core business knowledge with entrepreneurial thinking, equipping students with the skills, confidence, and creativity needed to turn ideas into successful ventures.
Throughout the programme, students develop a strong understanding of key business functions, including marketing, finance, operations, leadership, and strategic management, while focusing on the practical challenges faced by entrepreneurs. The course emphasises innovation, opportunity recognition, business planning, and decision-making, helping students learn how to identify market gaps and develop sustainable business solutions.
A strong practical focus allows students to apply theory to real-world scenarios. You will gain hands-on experience in developing business ideas, creating business plans, managing risk, and pitching concepts, preparing you for self-employment, start-ups, or entrepreneurial roles within established organisations. The programme also highlights the importance of ethical, responsible, and sustainable entrepreneurship in a global context.
Students develop highly valued transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and digital literacy, all of which are essential for entrepreneurial success. The curriculum encourages creativity, resilience, and adaptability—key attributes for navigating competitive and fast-changing business environments.
In the final year, students complete a dissertation or applied entrepreneurship project, allowing them to explore a business idea or entrepreneurial challenge in depth through research and practical application. Academic support is provided throughout to help students demonstrate critical analysis and independent thinking.
Graduates of the BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship are well prepared to launch their own businesses, work in start-ups and SMEs, pursue entrepreneurial roles within larger organisations, or continue their studies at the postgraduate level.
