Assessment

This programme covers essential areas of computing, including programming, database systems, networking, cybersecurity, web development, and software engineering. Students gain practical experience through hands-on projects, labs, and applied assignments that reflect the demands of the technology industry.

Alongside technical expertise, the course develops transferable skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, teamwork, communication, and project management, enabling graduates to adapt to a wide range of roles in computing and IT.

Graduates are prepared for careers as software developers, IT consultants, network administrators, systems analysts, cybersecurity specialists, or web developers, and are also well-equipped to pursue postgraduate study or professional certifications.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years or older and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification, such as A-Levels (at least one pass) or a BTEC National/Extended Diploma in Business or a related subject

  • An Access to Higher Education Certificate from a recognised institution (accepted in place of A-Levels)

  • Other relevant Level 3 qualifications or equivalent international qualification

Mature applicants (21+)

Applicants aged 21 and over may be considered without standard academic qualifications if they can demonstrate course commitment. 

All applicants must:

  • Pass an academic interview

  • Demonstrate English language proficiency or complete an English assessment on campus

Assessment of Bachelor programmes is continuous and practical rather than based on a single final exam. Typical assessment methods include:

  • Written reports and essays

  • Class presentations

  • Project work and case studies

  • Group assignments

  • Portfolios and reflective journals

  • In-class activities and practical tasks

This course is structured around units or modules, where students are assessed as they complete each topic — often through a combination of assignments and project work rather than only exams.
