Assessment

This course covers key areas of digital technology, including software development, networking, database management, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital systems design. Students gain practical experience through projects, labs, and real-world case studies, ensuring that learning is directly applicable to industry needs.

The programme also focuses on developing transferable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, project management, teamwork, and professional communication, which are essential for success in technology-focused roles.

Graduates are well-prepared for careers as IT support specialists, software developers, network administrators, systems analysts, or junior IT consultants, and can progress to further study at bachelor’s degree level or professional certifications.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years or older and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification, such as A-Levels (at least one pass) or a BTEC National/Extended Diploma in Business or a related subject

  • An Access to Higher Education Certificate from a recognised institution (accepted in place of A-Levels)

  • Other relevant Level 3 qualifications or equivalent international qualification

Mature applicants (21+)

Applicants aged 21 and over may be considered without standard academic qualifications if they can demonstrate course commitment and 2 years of work experience, not necessarily related to the course.

All applicants must:

  • Pass an academic interview.

  • Demonstrate English language proficiency or complete an English assessment on campus

Assessment of Bachelor programmes is continuous and practical rather than based on a single final exam. Typical assessment methods include:

  • Written reports and essays

  • Class presentations

  • Project work and case studies

  • Group assignments

  • Portfolios and reflective journals

  • In-class activities and practical tasks

This course is structured around units or modules, where students are assessed as they complete each topic — often through a combination of assignments and project work rather than only exams.
